EUSSET Colloquium on Envisioning the Future of the European Conference on Computer Supported Cooperative Work

Your views on the conference and its future

The European Conference on Computer-Supported Cooperative Work (ECSCW) is one of the most traditional conferences on its field. It has been established in 1989 and it became an international venue on practice-centred computing and the design of cooperation technologies.

EUSSET have been fostering ECSCW since 2012, when it was founded to support the practice-centred computing tradition that links a deep understanding of work and life practices with the design of innovative technological artefacts. As such, EUSSET is strongly committed to keeping ECSCW relevant in the international research landscape.

For this purpose, EUSSET is organising an online colloquium on the 18th of December, from 15:00 to 17:00, to discuss with the community their views on the conference and its future. In particular, we would like to discuss issues regarding the conference visibility and attractiveness, going through its publication formats, and the activities associated with the conference. In so doing, we would like to better understand the extent to what ECSCW has been attending the demands of the practice-centred community and the ways in which it can help attract new members to it.

If you are interested in being part of these discussion, come and join us!

Participation is open and free to all people interested but requires registration. Make sure to register by noon CET on the 15th of December 2023 to be able to participate. You just need to send an e-mail to communitybuilding[at]eusset.eu communicating your interest!

Looking forward to seeing many of you there
